The General Specific
Honestly, I don’t know where this came from. It sounds like nothing I’d normally write. Either way, it’s the “freshest beat” I’ve written to date.

I stumbled upon an interesting and entertaining piece of information in one of my readings today. It is as follows:
“Peter Kropotkin, a Russian Prince who settled and wrote in England from 1878 onwards, proposed a form of Anarchist Communism whereby state governance would be replaced with collective free agreements.”
Whew! Break me off a piece of that, Kropotkin. Because seriously, if there’s an attainable utopia in which anarchists can find themselves “freely agreeing” on something, I so want in (times a thousand).
I might be wrong here when I say that the whole point of anarchism is agreeing on nothing and having no community; that anarchists having “free argreements” is like saying communism doesn’t neccessarily “deplore” the bourgeois, but rather, sees it as a class with “room for improvement” and “for all its downfalls, is still a fairly likeable bunch, that throws a good and unexclusive party now and then when the occassion calls for it.”
Either way, I think the Russian Prince is on to something with this proposal.
Discuss.

The rational side says curse, because I’m getting absolutely nothing done for school work and have been up really late recording layers and layers of musical fun the last few nights. Either way, here’s another ditty. Also, I had to cut a portion off the end - this blog has a 5 mb limit on audio posts, so the actual song is longer than the one I’m posting (if anyone cares).

4 years ago • 0 notesSo this was recorded last night by myself, Pete, and Martin. Avoding any huge disclaimers I’ll give you the back story. We had a half an hour to record four song ideas Pete and I had. Initially, we had planned for an entire night of recording, but discovered that our practice space wasn’t actually open on new year’s day. Rick, the owner of our space, gave us thrity minutes to do our thing. Martin entered at the ten minute mark, and hadn’t heard any of the songs. He had to play keys on the fly. This is the third song we did. We recorded it with one microphone hooked up to my computer which was pointed in the general direction of our respective instruments. Oh, and I’m playing drums for this one. This means they probably won’t sound good or be in any rigid time signature.
